Carmen was my art teacher at the Silvermine Arts Guild in New Canaan, CT. I had been taking a watercolor class there and the teacher put a sugar and creamer on a pedestal and told the class to paint it. When I showed her my painting, the teacher told me that I would never be an artist. I was so deflated! I went to the office of the Guild and a woman there said “that’s rubbish” and sent me to Carmen’s class.
Carmen took one look at my painting and said “I love it!” She framed it and put it up in her kitchen. What an honor!
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to write a testimonial for Carmen. Carmen is not just an art teacher, but a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration. I had the pleasure of being her student for several years and I can confidently say that she changed my life.
Carmen not only taught me about art, but she taught me about life. She taught me to believe in myself, to never give up, and to always keep creating. She encouraged me so much that when I moved to NYC, I signed up at the Art Students League and began selling my work. If not for Carmen, who knows what I would be doing today!
Carmen is a true gem, and I am forever grateful for her kindness, her wisdom, and her support. She is a gift to the world of art, and to anyone who has the pleasure of knowing her. Thank you, Carmen, for being a fabulous teacher and friend. Cheers to you!
